THE DO’S AND DON’TS OF DECORATING YOUR HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
It’s just about that time of the year when Christmas carols are blasting on every station and santas are at every street corner. Enjoy decking the halls this year with these do’s and don’t tips for decorating your home for the holidays.
Exterior Decorating:
Let’s face it, with our Calgary weather it can be difficult to get out and decorate. If you don’t have the time or it is too cold to string lights over your entire house, then just decorate your front entrance. By adding a few touches like garland with lights and a wreath on your door, it will make all the difference in making your home warm and inviting.
Pick a theme or scheme:
Themes are your friend. An easy way to keep your decorating on track is to develop a specific colour scheme or theme to keep your decorations beautiful and coordinated.
Fresh Cedar:
Christmas comes with some amazing smells. Places like Fleurish Flower Shop sell fresh cedar around the holidays that you can place around your home to keep your home smelling fresh and festive. You can check out Fleurish Flower Shop at #8, 6449 Crowchild Trail SW.
Say “oh no to tinsel”:
While tinsel may add sparkle to your tree, it also creates a mess! This year skip the tinsel and try adding extra lights or other bold decorations to catch people’s eye.
High Impact:
When you are buying decorations for your home this year, try and find large-scale decorations. Using larger decorations creates a higher impact at a lower cost.
