Fall Home Decor Trends
The kids are back in school, the leaves are changing colour and I think I even saw some flecks of snow out there, ECK! Summer may be over, but with a change of season comes a change in trends. Take a look at some of the projections we have of what is to come for Fall 2018.
Colour
Let’s be honest, Calgarians aren’t really known for being bold with colour, but this fall we are starting to see more of a switch to incorporating colours into our homes. Navy, blush and purple combinations, as well as teals are becoming popular this year. I am really liking the soft introduction of colour. It’s about time we gave some life to our homes!
Velvet & Graphic Prints
Velvet is coming in strong this season. We are seeing it everywhere! Luxe velvets are becoming prevalent in our furniture, toss and drapery. Velvet is incredibly soft and comfortable, but it also has an expensive look with its rich colour and plush pile. We are also seeing more of a play with geometrics and mixing patterns in the home. We love all the velvet coming our way and the bold prints being shown off!
Statement Pieces
Pack a punch this fall and add a statement piece to your home! We are seeing Calgarians push the boundaries a bit more and add more sculptural furniture pieces or largescale art or fixtures to give a dramatic effect to their home. I love playing with scale and using oversized pieces to really make an impact!
I am excited about this fall’s décor trends. I think Calgary is starting to open their doors a bit more and their imagination. I can’t wait to push the boundaries and try all my new ideas!
